Passed away at the age of 61 from cancer at the VA Hospital in Spokane, WA with his family and friends around him. He was born in Spokane, WA. He is survived by his wife Penny Carbary and Daughter Wanda Jones and son-in-law Jake Jones, Daughter Xandria Dumler and son-in-law Josh Dumler. Four grandchildren: Dawn and Dezirae Jones, T.J. and Hope Hawkins. Preston Carbary, his brother and family of the Spokane area. He served in the U.S., from 1967-1983, was in the 101st Airborne Division, Vietnam Veteran, with numerous medals/ribbons to include, the, , Vietnam Cross on Gallantry with Palm. He was a Drill Instructor for five years, and then went into the Construc-tion Business for a number of years. He loved to watch NASCAR racing and football, he enjoyed gardening, cooking, barbecuing, but his most favorite passion was fishing and being with his family. Memorial Services will be held Saturday, March 19, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at the VA Hospital’s Chapel, 4815 N. Assembly. He was a great husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend, he’s dearly missed.
Born December 6, 1933 in Cresbard, SD; passed away March 10, 2011 in Spokane, he was 77 years old. He is survived by his son, Brian Guenther of Spokane; daughter and son-in-law, Darcea and David Hopf of Winlock, WA; brother: Fred Guenther of St. Maries, ID; sisters: Arlene Pentland and Bonnie Haskins, both of St. Maries, ID; and seven grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy Guenther; father, Carl Guenther; mother, Elsie Guenther; sister: Betty Kingsley. Don lived in the Spokane area for 51 years (spending the past year at his river property on the Pend Oreille River near Ione, WA). He retired from The Couer d’ Alenes Company in 1999. He was a member of the Iron Workers Local 511, a member of Northwood Presbyterian Church, and a member of the Eagles. He enjoyed cutting firewood, falling trees, spending time with family and friends at his river property, camping, hunting, fishing, motorcycling, making things out of iron, and dancing. A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 on Saturday, March 19, at the Eagles in St. Maries, ID. Interment will be at Woodlawn Cemetery, St. Maries, ID.
